Peperomia Carperata
Peperomia Carperata plants are an easy to care for house plant for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Sometimes called the “Radiator” or “Emerald Ripple” plant - the Carperata has striking dark green leaves and a vibrant red underside.
A compact indoor plant that wont take up too much room!
Country of Origin:
Native to Brazil, but now found throughout Central and South America
Size:
Reaches up to 8 inches (20cm) in height and width in 2 - 5 years.
Flowering:
White and pale yellow tall thin flower spikes in the spring and summer.
Lifespan
With the right care this plant can live for between 5 - 10 years.
Toxicity
This plant is not poisonous to humans or pets.
Care Guide:
Light: This plant does not enjoy direct sunlight. Placing it in a North or East facing window is best.
The Peperomia will also thrive under artificial and grow lights (if they are placed minimum 32 inches above it) making it great for office spaces.
Water: Only water the plant when the soil feels barely moist. The top inch of the soil should feel mostly dry before you water it.
As a general rule of thumb - 50ml of water should be added for every 10cm of pot size.
This plant will handle British unfiltered tap water.
Humidity: This plant does best in moderate humidity 40% - 50% RH is ideal.
Temperature: 18c - 24c is ideal. The plant can tolerate temperatures as low as 12c but avoid placing it near any cold draughts.
